Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Writers Toolkit, operated by Multiverse Forge (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Service Description

Writers Toolkit is a fiction manuscript analysis engine that processes your writing locally on your device. It provides three analysis engines:

  • Voice Fingerprinter — analyses dialogue and narration for per-character voice consistency
  • Plot Hole Detective — tracks narrative threads, character continuity, and structural integrity
  • Cover Brief Generator — derives a designer-ready cover brief from manuscript tone and content

The Service is operated by Multiverse Forge, a freelance activity operated from Germany, and is accessible via writerstoolkit.multiverseforge.org.

2. Free Tier Limitations

Writers Toolkit offers a free tier with the following limitations:

  • Analysis limited to the first chapter of your manuscript
  • Access to all three analysis engines on the free chapter
  • No full-manuscript analysis (available in paid tiers)
  • No export to structured formats (PDF, JSON — available in paid tiers)
  • Community support only; no priority processing

We reserve the right to adjust free tier limits with reasonable advance notice. Paid tiers are described on the pricing page and subject to terms disclosed at the time of purchase.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Writers Toolkit only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

  • Attempt to circumvent usage limits or access restrictions
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically extract data from the Service
  • Submit manuscripts or content that infringes the intellectual property of others
  • Use the Service in any manner that could harm, disable, or overburden the infrastructure
  • Attempt to access features, tiers, or data belonging to other users

4. Intellectual Property

4.1 Your Manuscript Content

Your manuscript and any content you submit to Writers Toolkit remains your property at all times. We do not claim ownership of your writing. In the free tier, analysis is performed entirely on your local device and no content is transmitted to our servers. You retain full copyright in your work.

4.2 Analysis Outputs

The analysis reports, cover briefs, and other outputs generated by Writers Toolkit are derived from your content and are provided to you for your use. You may use these outputs freely in connection with your writing and publishing activities.

4.3 Platform Rights

The Writers Toolkit platform, including its analysis engines, code, design, and branding, is owned by Multiverse Forge and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce or redistribute any part of the Service without our written consent.

5. Editorial and Professional Advice Disclaimer

Writers Toolkit is an automated structural analysis tool. It does not replace professional editorial services, literary agents, writing coaches, or publishing consultants.

Analysis outputs — including voice consistency scores, plot findings, and cover briefs — are generated algorithmically based on textual patterns. They are informational only and may contain errors or omissions. We make no guarantees about the commercial viability, publishability, or literary quality of your manuscript. Always consult qualified professionals for publishing decisions.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Multiverse Forge and its operators shall not be liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service
  • Editorial decisions made based on analysis outputs
  • Inaccurate or incomplete structural analysis results
  • Loss of manuscript files, analysis reports, or saved data
  • Service interruptions, downtime, or infrastructure failures

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or EUR 50, whichever is greater. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

7. Service Availability

We strive to keep Writers Toolkit available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend or discontinue the Service with reasonable notice where possible. We are not liable for losses arising from service interruptions beyond our reasonable control. Because the core analysis runs locally, many features remain available even if the website is temporarily unreachable.

8. Termination

You may stop using Writers Toolkit at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections relating to intellectual property, limitation of liability, and governing law survive termination. Your manuscript files are yours and remain on your device unaffected.

9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Germany. Disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Germany, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection laws applicable in your country of residence within the EU.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email (for registered users) or a prominent notice on the site. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
